About The Melaleuca Freedom Celebration
2013 Melaleuca Freedom Celebration – July 4th, Idaho Falls, Idaho
The Melaleuca Freedom Celebration, now in its 21st year, celebrates the freedoms and liberties the United States was founded upon and honors the millions of servicemen and women who’ve sacrificed for those freedoms.
More than 100,000 people will gather to the shores of the Snake River for what is the largest fireworks display west of the Mississippi and the centerpiece Independence Day celebration in the region. A musical, inspiring, narrated radio broadcast (broadcast on KLCE 97.3) guides thousands of listeners through the dazzling and choreographed pyrotechnics display that often brings its audience to tears.
As well as the fireworks show, Melaleuca Inc. hosts an exclusive event at the Shilo Inn featuring a family-style buffet dinner, a full hour-long performance of patriotic music from the Freedom Symphony (a contingent of the Idaho Falls Symphony Orchestra) and special observances from Idaho’s top elected officials in the run up to the dramatic fireworks show.
Seating for the dinner begins at 7 p.m., followed by the symphony performance and then the fireworks at dusk. Tickets can be purchased at the Melaleuca Store at 330 North Capital Avenue in downtown Idaho Falls. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Ticket prices are $28 for adults and $15 for children.
